Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how SEIRS Company Ltd (RC 7731350), trading as SEIRS Logistics ("SEIRS", "we", "us"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the SEIRS customer, driver and business apps and seirs.co (together, the "Platform"). We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 ("NDPA") and the General Application and Implementation Directive issued under it.
Data controller: SEIRS Company Ltd, 30 Raji Street, Dopemu, Agege, Lagos State, Nigeria. Contact: [email protected].
1. Who this policy covers
- Customers who send parcels, book rides or book Travel Buddy seats
- Business account holders and their staff
- Drivers and riders (bicycle, motorcycle, tricycle, car, van and truck)
- Vehicle owners who allow a driver to use their vehicle
- Partner store owners and staff
- Recipients and collectors of parcels, including people who do not have a SEIRS account
- Visitors to seirs.co
2. Age requirement
The Platform is only for people aged 18 or over. Everyone confirms they are 18 or older when signing up. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, contact [email protected] and we will close it and delete their data. A business run by or for a person under 18 must be registered and operated by a parent or legal guardian.
3. What we collect
| Who | Data | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Everyone with an account | Name, phone number, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash that we cannot read back), language preference, and device and app information, including an error report when an app crashes | Yes |
| Customers | Pickup and delivery addresses, parcel descriptions, parcel photos, booking and trip history, payments and refunds, ratings, in-app chat messages. Card details are entered on Flutterwave's payment page, not in our apps | Yes |
| Customers (optional) | Government ID and selfie, to unlock higher limits; date of birth; emergency contact | No |
| Drivers | National ID or NIN slip (front and back), selfie, driver's licence (where the vehicle type requires one), bank account details, live location while online or on a job, earnings and trip history, ratings | Yes |
| Driver's vehicle | Exterior, interior and number-plate photos; vehicle papers and insurance certificate (where the vehicle type requires them) | Yes |
| Drivers (optional) | Guarantor letter, date of birth, emergency contact | No |
| Vehicle owners (if not the driver) | Name, phone number, relationship to the driver, ID, signed consent letter | Yes |
| Partner stores | Owner's ID and selfie, shop photos tagged with GPS location, bank account details, parcel intake and release records | Yes |
| Partner stores (optional) | CAC certificate, TIN | No |
| Businesses | Company name, RC number, business address, CAC certificate, owner's ID, business contact details | Yes |
| Recipients and collectors | Name, phone number, email (to receive a collection code) and, where ID is shown at handover, only the ID type and last 4 digits | Provided by the sender |
| People who receive by a receive code | The saved address you choose for parcels, and your receive code. You turn this on yourself and can turn it off | No |
| Someone paying for another person's booking through a link | Name, email and, if given, phone number, to take the payment and send any refund. They need no SEIRS account | Yes, to pay |
| Website visitors | The site sets no cookies and loads no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to run and protect the site | Automatic |
Chain of custody: to protect senders, recipients and drivers, parcels are photographed when booked (by the sender), at delivery (by the driver; a job cannot close without this photo), and at partner stores on receipt and collection. Each handoff records a typed-name signature and a timestamp.
Promo codes: so one promotion cannot be claimed over and over, we keep a one-way fingerprint of the phone number and of the app's notification token with each code used. A fingerprint cannot be turned back into the number or the token.
Identity checks: a SEIRS team member reviews driver, vehicle, partner-store and business documents manually. We do not currently run automated NIN or facial-recognition checks, and we do not run criminal background checks.
4. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you sign up, upload documents, book, chat or contact support
- From your device, including live location while you are using the app (drivers: while online or on a job, including when the screen is locked)
- From senders, when they give us a recipient's or collector's details
- From Flutterwave, which confirms payments and payouts
- From vehicle owners and guarantors, when they give consent documents
5. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis under the NDPA |
|---|---|
| Creating and running your account; matching bookings with drivers; navigation; tracking; delivery and handover | Performance of our contract with you |
| Verifying the identity of drivers, vehicle owners, partner stores and businesses; preventing fraud; chain-of-custody records | Legitimate interests (safety and fraud prevention) and legal obligations |
| Processing payments, refunds and payouts; holding a portion of new drivers' payouts against chargebacks | Performance of contract and legal obligations |
| Tax, accounting, regulatory reporting and responding to lawful requests | Legal obligation |
| Customer support and resolving disputes and claims | Performance of contract and legitimate interests |
| Improving the Platform, pricing and safety; analytics | Legitimate interests |
| Keeping a promotion to the uses its rules allow | Legitimate interests (fraud prevention) |
| Marketing messages | Consent (you can withdraw at any time) |
| Optional ID for higher customer limits; optional emergency contact | Consent |
6. Automated decisions
We set all prices automatically based on distance, weight, vehicle type, time and fuel costs. Drivers who cancel jobs frequently are placed lower in the queue for new job offers. Automated checks flag unusual activity, such as a very high cancellation rate or impossible GPS movement, for a person to review; a flag on its own never suspends an account. You can ask for a human review of any decision about your account by contacting [email protected].
7. Who we share data with
Between users, only as needed for a job: customers see the assigned driver's name, photo, vehicle details, plate number and live location; drivers see pickup and delivery details and the recipient's name and phone number; partner stores see what they need to receive and release a parcel. Someone you ask to pay for a booking sees your first name, the towns it runs between, the number of parcels and the amount, never the full addresses. Someone who sends you a parcel by your receive code sees your first name and your area, never your address or phone number; the driver sees those, as for any delivery.

- Authorities: law enforcement, courts and regulators where the law requires it, or where needed to protect someone's safety.
- Business transfers: if SEIRS is reorganised, merged or sold, data may transfer to the new owner, who must respect this policy.
We do not sell personal data.
8. International transfers
Almost all personal data we hold is stored and processed outside Nigeria, mainly in the United States, because the providers we use host it there. We transfer data under the NDPA's cross-border transfer rules, relying on contractual safeguards with our providers and, where appropriate, your consent and the necessity of the transfer to perform our contract with you. You can request details of these safeguards from [email protected].
9. How long we keep data
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account data | While your account is active, then up to 2 years after closure |
| Identity and KYC documents | Up to 5 years after the account closes, for fraud prevention and legal claims |
| Payment, payout and tax records | 6 years, as required for tax and accounting |
| Parcel photos, handoff signatures and chat messages | 12 months, or longer if linked to an open claim or dispute |
| Location and trip history | 24 months |
| Recipient and collector details, and the details of anyone who paid through a link | 12 months after the delivery |
We then delete or anonymise the data.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege staff access, and logging. All staff and contractors with access sign confidentiality agreements. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
11. Your rights
Under the NDPA you can:
- Ask for a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention duties)
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it
- Ask for human review of an automated decision
You can delete your account in any SEIRS app (Profile, then Delete account) or at seirs.co/delete-account. For anything else, contact [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (ndpc.gov.ng).
12. Cookies and website storage
Our mobile apps do not use cookies. Our admin dashboard uses session cookies strictly necessary for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
This website sets no cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts. On your first visit it asks what it may load, with Accept all, Reject all and Choose given equal weight. Nothing optional loads before you choose, and you can change your choice at any time under Privacy choices at the bottom of every page.
| What | Why | Basis | Who receives data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your privacy choice (seirs.consent, in your browser) | Remembers what you chose. We ask again after 6 months or when this notice changes | Necessary | Nobody. SEIRS keeps a record of the choice (a random ID, the notice version, what you allowed and when, no IP address) to show what you agreed to |
| The 4 digits you type on a tracking page (in your browser, that tab only) | So a refresh does not ask again | Necessary | Nobody. Deleted when you close the tab |
| Error reports | To find and fix faults on the site | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure site | Sentry (United States), with tracking codes and those digits removed first |
| Maps | Maps of partner stores and of a delivery | Your consent | OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom), which receives your IP address |
| Videos | Videos in news articles | Your consent | Google (YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode), which receives your IP address and may store data in your browser once a video plays |
Without consent, a map or a video shows a button instead, and loads only when you press it. You can withdraw consent at any time under Privacy choices; this does not affect anything already loaded. To object to error reports, write to [email protected].
13. Changes
We will notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days before a material change takes effect.
